Sam Sorgiovanni helped to design the interior of the 126 metre superyacht Octopus, one of the largest of its kind in the world. There is a great deal involved in such a design, with large areas such as the basketball court, movie theatre and glass bottomed swimming pool – to name just a few – having to fit in easily with dining and relaxation areas such as the observation lounge and salon. Then there are all the 41 cabins to design and fit out with beautiful decor appealing to the many guests that are invited to enjoy a holiday there.
While the Octopus was first launched in 2003, she underwent a fairly comprehensive maintenance and modification fit-out in 2008. 2015 also saw maintenance scheduled in Germany, one of the few places large enough with dry dock facilities.
Built in 2008 by Dutch shipyard Oceanco to Lloyds standards and in compliance to the rules of the MCA Anastasia has a comfortable cruising speed of 15 knots.
